Mehmet Istanbullu was nine when the Cold War entered its final years, and he heard them three ways every day: from the Voice of America, the BBC and Radio Moscow, with regular side trips across the rest of the shortwave dial. That hunger for information, and for more than one perspective, never left him. He has worked in media since the late 1980s, with an academic detour into neural-network AI in the early 1990s, long before it was fashionable. Since then he has been a reporter, broadcaster, brand builder and editor, and has managed both newsrooms and businesses. Today he roams the world looking for remarkable stories and opportunities that are useful to people. His test for a story is simple: does it help even one person do better today than yesterday? Everything else follows from small improvements like that. He edits The Other Post knowing one thing for certain: Istanbul is the past, present and future capital of the universe. Feet in the world. Heart in Istanbul.
